As a parent, you have many wishes, hopes and dreams for your child. We know that a major component of these dreams is your child's education. West Cobb Christian Academy is committed to educating your child in a manner that grows them into adults who are confident, competent and well-prepared. We are dedicated to modeling lives of leadership and service through our words and actions. We are dedicated to upholding the growth that Jesus' showed in Luke 2:52, "Now Jesus increased in wisdom, and stature and favor with God and man.

In Proverbs 3, it talks about wisdom bestowing well-being. Many of these principles we use to apply to our daily teaching and work here at West Cobb Christian Academy:

Keeping God's commands will prolong your life and give you inner peace and spiritual prosperity

Having love and faithfulness will win favor with God and man

Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding

Fear the Lord and this will bring health to your body

Honor the Lord with your wealth and your barns will overflow

The most significant part of those verses drives our instruction.

"Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for wisdom is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with it. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her." - Proverbs 3:13-18

West Cobb Christian Academy believes that God, the Master Gardener, created the first garden. In the middle of that garden, He planted the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. We feel as if West Cobb Christian Academy is an extension of that tree planted right here in West Cobb. We believe He created fertile ground in each child's heart and we are entrusted with its care.

Partnering with parents we plant the seed of God's Word in our student's tender hearts. WCCA functions as an extension of the family to support parents in educating their children. We view every student as created in the "image of God", but with individual traits and abilities. Therefore, curriculum is designed with these differences in mind, to nurture the student's spiritual, mental, social, and physical growth.

Our small class ratio of 13:1 in the elementary classes provides that nurturing environment that lets us know each child's needs and allows us to educate your child to compete in today' world.

Our daily curriculum is designed to cultivate a cognitive foundation that will meet the intellectual demands associated with growth. At West Cobb Christian Academy, your child will find a rigorous curriculum that stimulates their mind, a staff that cares passionately, and friends who encourage and help them blossom.

West Cobb Christian Academy is a special place where you will find your "home away from home" with the friendship of other WCCA families. West Cobb Christian Academy is devoted to providing the "best opportunity" available to your child to allow them to go as far in life as possible. We look forward to helping you make the best decision for your child and family in selecting a school. Please contact us for more information or to schedule a school tour.

We look forward to adding you to our garden as we explore the great world of the Master Gardener.

In 2000, a small group of women had the idea to start a small Mother's Morning Out (MMO) program at our congregation as a way to serve the community. This served ages two - four. Eventually, we added a one-year-old classroom.

In 2003, we added a six months classroom to the MMO program. There was a total of fifteen enrolled in the MMO program. That year we also added a Preschool K4 (Pre-K4) classroom with six enrolled. At this time the MMO and Pre-K4 programs were still separately managed.

In 2004, the MMO program and the preschool program became one, and SONflowers Learning Academy was created. The school enrolled 35 students that year. They offered a second language program with sign language and Spanish, music and developmentally appropriate curriculums for all ages. The school also had daily Bible study for each age and bi-monthly chapel services. We had six teachers with the director acting as one teacher. The following year enrollment increased to 51. We then added three more teachers and a full time director.

In the 2006-2007 school year we added the first kindergarten class to our established preschool program and became West Cobb Christian Academy. Every year following we have added an additional grade level to our elementary program.

The purpose of Christian education is to equip and train the students for service by "teaching them to obey everything I (Jesus) have commanded you." Matthew 28:18-20. Since Christ is the center of the Christian life, our education is concerned with the process of character development toward Christ-likeness. It is the task of Christian education to aid in training God's people for the work of His ministry. We believe firmly that "In Christ are hidden all the riches of wisdom and knowledge." (Colossians2:3)

We acknowledge that the Bible is the infallible Word of God and has authority to guide us in our pursuit of truth and in the instruction of the children entrusted to us. We teach our students that no area of life can be separated from God, and that no fact can be understood apart from God's revelation We have developed an approach to education based on the development of Jesus described in Luke 2:52: "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature; and in favor with God and man."

Our vision has the following key aspects:

To support and to build functional Christian families. Malachi 4:1-6, "turning the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to the fathers."

To use the Bible as the main textbook. All other material, resources, and techniques must be viewed in Its light.

To be a distinct model of Christian Education involving home, school and church.

To minister to all children of the Body of Christ in the greater West Cobb area.

To provide a Christ-centered education ministering to the whole child.

To recognize the students, not just as "children in the Body of Christ," but as present members and future leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ.

To provide curriculum and grade placement based upon the child's developmental level, not upon standards of age or "curriculum expectations."

To function as an integral part of the teaching ministry of the church. We can only operate successfully within the Biblical framework of God's authority in the church and family.

To serve the community by participating in their events.

To spiritually and academically equip our students to be a "light in today's darkness."

We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, inerrant, and therefore, authoritative Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16)

We believe that there is one God, eternally and simultaneously existent in three distinct and equal beings known in the Scriptures as the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:18-20)

We believe in Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miraculous works, atoning death through the shedding of His blood, His literal and bodily resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the father, and his second coming some day.

We believe that all men are lost because of sin and can only be saved by God's plan of salvation. (Romans 3: 22-24)

We believe that the Bible teaches that God's plan of salvation includes hearing the word (Romans 10:17), believing that Jesus is God's Son (Hebrews 11:6), repenting of your past sins (Acts 17:30), confessing God's name before men (Matthew 10:32-33) and becoming immersed into baptism for the remission of your sins (Acts 2:38). Only then can you receive God's gift of eternal life in heaven.

We believe there is one faith, one hope, one body, one spirit and therefore strive to be the New Testament church that was established on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2).

We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto resurrection of life, and those lost unto the resurrection of condemnation.
