Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a list of the frequently asked questions that we have compiled. If your questions is not answered appropriately, please contact us. 

1. How long have you been in existence? The 2011-2012 school year will begin our 6th year for our elementary school program. We began with a Mother’s Morning Out program in 2000 and added our Preschool program in 2003.

2. Are you accredited?
We will begin the accreditation process through the Georgia Association of Christian Schools in late spring of 2011. This will be a three year process.


3. Are your teachers certified?
All of our teachers must hold a valid teaching certificate. All of our academic teachers have a combined experience level of 45 years. All teachers must participate in 50 hours of professional development yearly.


4. How do your test scores compare to other schools? WCCA administers the Stanford 10 to students in grades 1st, 3rd and 5th in the spring of each school year. On average, our students score at least 1 ½ grade levels higher than the standard scores nationwide.

How many students are in a classroom? WCCA has a 16 to 1 ratio in all classrooms. 

6. Do you teach church doctrine?
WCCA recognizes that its student body is made of a variety of religious backgrounds.  Biblical truth is taught in the classroom. The main text of our spiritual learning is the Bible. We will not compromise the teachings of the Bible in any form. 


 7. Do you have a library? We do have a school library that includes over 5,000 books. Students check out once a week.  

8. What about lunch time?Lunches are available for purchase on Tuesday – Friday. Monday is a bring lunch from home day. Lunches are $3.00 a day. You must preorder your lunch one month in advance. We accept daily heat ups from home as well.
 
9. Do you wear uniforms? Yes. Please see the uniform policy located on the admissions page. 

 10.  Will my child’s academic program be enriched and expanded if they show they are working above grade level? WCCA makes every effort to differentiate instruction for all children. Students are assessed individually and lessons are planned according to their development needs. Many of WCCA’s standards and expectations are advanced for each grade level. 
 
11. What does your program look like? Mondays and Thursdays are our enrichment days. We offer Bible, music and art appreciation, Spanish, technology, physical education, math and writing enrichment. The other days are uninterrupted academic days. 

 12. Do you take field trips? We currently have a field trip experience each month.  Places we have gone: Atlanta Zoo, Center for Puppetry Arts, History Museum, Ballet and much more. We also have several in house field trips throughout the year.  

13. What are your future plans for the school?
We have a very active Board of Directors who is currently working on a capital campaign to raise the funds for our building. Our goal is to add a grade a year until 12th  grade.
