Results of November Service Project:  Donations to Food Bank

The Service Projects Committee donated a little more than two big boxes of food, as well as $52 to MUST Ministries.  Thank you for making this project such a success.

December Service Project:  Toys for Tots

Please bring in a new, unwrapped toy for us to deliver to a Toys for Tots drop-off by December 16th.  Teachers and room mothers may decide for the class to bring in a toy for Toys for Tots rather than doing a gift exchange.  Wait to hear from your teachers or room moms.

PreK4 Field Trip

We will be caroling on December 8th from 10 to 11 am at Spring Mountain Assisted Living.  The cost is $1 per child to cover gas.

Breakfast with Santa

Macland Road church of Christ children's ministry invites WCCA families to their Breakfast with Santa on December 12th at 9:30am in the fellowship hall. Come enjoy breakfast, crafts, and pictures with Santa. The cost is FREE.  Please RSVP to Belinda Herring at 404-312-8767 or Belinda.Herring@westcobbchristian.org.

Class Parties

Room moms, please get with your teachers and parents to plan your class parties for December 15th.  All parents are invited for the parties that day.  All details of the parties will be left up to teachers and room moms.

Pajama Day

On the last day of school before winter holidays, December 16th, we will enjoy Polar Express together and wear our favorite holiday or other cozy pjs.

No Lunch Bunch, Early Release

December 15th and 16th there will be no lunch bunch.  Everyone will go home at noon that day.

Staff Appreciation Lunch

We will have our annual lunch on December 16th from 12 to 2 pm.  We are looking for some moms to volunteer to watch our children while we go out for our staff party.

Other fundraising opportunities

Don't forget about our ongoing fundraising projects that don't cost you anything:

  • Inkjet printer cartridges
  • Aluminum cans
  • Use www.goodsearch.com for a search engine (powered by Yahoo) and shop online through this company and we get proceeds from all you do. This is a great way to earn the school money for those of you who shop online at Christmas.
  • Mention WCCA when you checkout at Party Rush in the Publix shopping center on New Macland Road and a percentage of your purchase will go towards the school.

Suggestions and Concerns

We are always looking for ways to improve. One way is to get feedback from our parents. If you ever have suggestions, comments or concerns, please contact Ms. Celeste or Ms. Heather, either in person or by email (see below). We have had some really good parent involvement meetings. It is not too late to become involved and get on a PTO committee. If you are interested, please email Ms. Belinda (Belinda.Herring@westcobbchristian.org). We can only make this school great with your help! We appreciate you being a part of West Cobb Christian Academy and we hope to be able to serve you for a long time in the future.

RSVP

What do you do when you receive an invitation that has an RSVP at the bottom?  It means please reply.  It is the polite thing to do without delay.  God invites all to come to His Son by His divine power, the Gospel (John 6:44-45).  God offers the gift of salvation, and man must receive it by obedience, meeting the conditions prescribed by God (Ephesians 2:8-10).  God's Son is the author of eternal salvation to all who will obey him (Hebrews 5:8-9).

Life is such that we do not know when we will hear for the last time the Lord's invitation (James 4:13-15).  It is wise to not put off our affirmative answer to the invitation to the feast of salvation.  There is an RSVP on this invitation to every individual (Galatians 6:5).  Jesus' outstretched arms on the cross should be seen as an offer of an incomparable invitation to lost men to be saved today (II Corinthians 6:2, Matthew 11:28-30, Acts 9:6, Romans 6:1-5, Revelation 3:20).  Man could not know God's will and be saved without the Holy Spirit's work in revealing the blood-sealed New Testament (Matthew 26:28, Revelation 22:17).

Pray that all who have been made aware of the message of salvation in the Gospel will quickly and sincerely respond positively to Heaven's invitation.  The day will come to each of us when we will have heard our last invitation!  All of our opportunities to respond in obedience are this side of death (Hebrews 9:27).  Let our RSVP of response to the invitation be "I come, I come."

    January 2009.

On Sunday mornings at 7:30, there is a special program called In Search of the Lord's Way on television. This month they are discussing topics about the family and seeing what the Bible says. This is a great study program. Either make your plans to get up early or set your machine to tape it. You won't be sorry. On Comcast, it's Channel 02.

As always, you are invited to attend services here at Macland Road church of Christ. Sunday Bible study (9:30 am), Sunday AM worship (10:30), Sunday PM worship (6:00), and Wednesday evening services (7:30 pm).

There are other congregations of the Lord's church meeting for worship and Bible studies.  If you wish, please feel free to contact us to find out if there is one more convenient in location to you.
